Les Gets - The four best easy access views - Winter

You will find in this article the best view of Les Gets and how to access them in the winter.

The Nauchets picnic platform

The brand new 117m2 sun drenched picnic platform has been installed at the edge of the blue Violette run, intersected by the red Rhodos run. Both of these runs are easily accessed by skiers from the mid station Chavannes ski area and for those using snow shoes or on foot from the dedicated pedestrian trail that begins past the beginner ski area, also accessed from the mid station of the Chavannes. There is ample parking available as well, or catch the gondola from the village.

There are wooden tables, benches and sun loungers provided, as well as a WiFi hotspot and electrical and USB outlets. The area is a veritable sun trap and has stunning views of the Les Gets bowl and surrounding mountains. In the summer the picnic area can be accessed by the Tour des Mouilles trail and the downhill MTB track Encape. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy watching the world go by, surrounded by nature.

Mont Chery view point

The Mont Chery gondola allows access to a fabulous view point for both skiers and pedestrians alike. At the summit, a short walk past the Le Belvédère restaurant and snack bar, there is a viewing platform that affords spectacular views of the Mont Blanc mountain range in the distance and the whole of Les Gets village and the surrounding pistes.

The village has installed a gorgeous wooden frame and bench that allows for picture perfect selfies and photos with the name of the village included. For those that love outdoor activities there is a 6km round trip walk to Mont-Caly and back, clearly marked and unless there is deep snow, a good pair of hiking boots will suffice, as well as numerous blue, red and black runs for the avid skiers.

Le Ranfolly viewing platform

Discover the stunning views of the Mont Blanc mountain range from the top of Ranfolly thanks to the new step into the void platform installed in 2019. Located at the top of the Ranfolly 6-seater express chairlift, the 27m2 platform has been built facing one of the most stunning viewpoints in the Portes du Soleil.

The platform is equipped with a free photo shot spot, where an automated camera will take a picture of you, your family and friends, so everyone is on the picture! You can then get your picture for free online thanks to your ski pass.

This view point is only accessible to skiers.

Mont-Caly hamlet

A hidden gem, known for its outstanding views of the Northern Alps and Mont Blanc, Mont-Caly can be accessed by car and a short walk to the hamlet in winter, or a 6km round trip walk from the mid station of Mont Chery, winter and summer. Mont Caly is situated at 1490m above sea level, a few kilometers above Les Gets village. The views of the region and the Mont Blanc massif are spectacular. Accessible by road in summer with plenty of parking and a number of walking and biking trails.

The Chevrelles restaurant is popular for lunch in winter and both lunch and dinner in the summer. Reservations are a must at this restored farmhouse that serves local dishes typical to the Haute Savoie region. In summer, the lawn has deck chairs, perfect for relaxing with a chilled bottle of rose and in the winter, hikers, skiers and walkers enjoy hearty meals on the sundrenched terrace.
