Les Gets in summer - Charming village for summer holidays

Les Gets is a beautiful, traditional Savoyard alpine village that makes for a memorable summer holiday – whether you want to relax and unwind, or embark on adrenaline-fuelled adventures.

Shopping, dining and culture

Tuck into a delicious meal at one of Les Gets’ many restaurants, spanning many cuisines and suiting all budgets. Or, wander around the village’s quaint shops and boutiques.

Craving culture? Pay a visit to the fascinating Museum of Mechanical Instruments, or head to Les Apprentis Fermiers with the little ones. At this small farm, children from a year old can pet animals, while you browse the traditional crafts.

Lakeside fun

When you see the stunning lake at Les Gets, you’ll be unsurprised to hear that many families spend long summer days here, playing in the water – overlooked by experienced lifeguards – and eating ice cream.

The more adventurous can climb, bounce and slide at the WiBit water playground at the Lac des Ecoles. Open from June 20th until September 2nd, from 11am until 8pm, it’s suitable for children aged 6 and upwards, and has 30 fun modules.

Above the lake, you will see the new Alta Lumina attraction, a magical night path through the forest with lights and sounds, for an incredible experience that will delight the whole family.

Hiking and biking

The two main gondolas allow foot traffic, and tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices located at the base of each station. This allows easy access to a variety of hikes and walks on both the Mont Chery and the Chavannes mountains.

Sturdy walking boots are more than sufficient to explore the beautiful mountain trails, and there are restaurants providing lunch, snacks and live music along the way. The trails are well-marked, and the tourist office provides free walking maps.

A new addition to the village is electric bikes. These bikes are extremely easy to operate, and allow you to pedal up the steeper roads with ease. The online registration is quick, and the pass to activate the bike can be collected at the tourist office. There are docking stations throughout the village, at the Lac and halfway up the Route des Chavannes.

Or, if you fancy providing that pedal power yourself, explore the trails of MTB and roads on your own manual machine!

Events and regular activities

June, July and August see a wealth of exciting events descend upon Les Gets. This includes music festivals like MTB events, The Festival of Mechanical Music, and The Lounge Music Festival.

There are also activities organized each week if you want to learn a new skill, or brush up on an existing one. Choose from carpentry workshops, guided walks with talks on alpine flora and fauna, cheese-making tours, archery tournaments and more.

Do it all with MultiPass

The MultiPass is a great way to enjoy a massive choice of activities and facilities across all 12 village resorts within the Portes du Soleil.

For €2 a day, individuals, couples, families and groups can access the many activities without limitations. The pass is free for children under 5 years old.
