What’s new in Les Gets – Part 2: Shops and Food

In the first part, we wrote about the new activities in Les Gets this Winter. In our second part, we are writing about the new restaurants and shops for Winter 2022-2023 season. If you are staying with us, our team will be happy to share more tips with you to get the most from your holiday.

What’s new in Les Gets – Part 2: Shops and Food

LA BECANERIE FOOD & COFFEE AND LA BECA CRAFT & DRAFT

The popular Bar Bush has been bought by the owners of Benannerie and they have created "the place to be"in Les Gets.

La Becanerie is reinventing street food, by revisiting the international classics and adding 100% homemade, local crafts, short circuits and vegetarian friendly food. You can enjoy trout ceviche in an instant citrus marinade, woks and special burgers made with locally made bread and 100% French meat minced on the spot. There are also some excellent vegetarian meals on the menu – which Mark and Susan can vouch for ( they have been vegetarian for more than 40 years!). The subtle décor, which combines mountain chic and contemporary design adds to the pleasure of enjoying a convivial moment with friends.

As for La Beca, it's the place to go for après-ski or to continue the evening after your meal. The two establishments are connected by a secret passage. La Beca has a lively atmosphere, with a choice of 13 types of draft beer and a hundred or so different types of canned and bottled beer from all over the world. The challenge? To introduce beers from local and international micro-breweries, brewed by enthusiasts in search of new flavors, crazy brews and hops and ever more fun and offbeat regions.

LE RENDEZ VOUS

The Rendez-Vous is a new address for gastronomy in the truest sense of the word. It revisits traditional French cuisine with a modern innovative touch. There are no Savoyard specialties, apart from Fondue on request, dishes are  all rather different and unique and are made with fresh products in season only. You can enjoy the Duo of grilled octopus in Cromesquis, the Tataki of tuna or other fresh fish of the moment (arriving every 2 days), accompanied by a glass of wine carefully selected from one of their favourite small producers. On a sweet note, try the Vanilla Beetroot, a variation of Machilly Raspberries and Tarragon Ice Cream. Prices are attractive, with a typical menu starting from 25€ (starter, main course, dessert). This restaurant, located in the centre of the village, is a fine place for friends where epicureans will be warmly welcomed by Julien and Boris in a cosy setting. 25 Rue des Pistes, 74260 Les Gets.

TÊTE DE RADIS FAMILY CONCEPT-STORE

Têtes de Radis ( this translates to Radish Heads!) has been created in a similar style to La Beca and La Becannerie which are opposite.

They owners have selected beautiful, unique and rather special products, including: adults and children’s clothes, toys, stationery, crockery, flowers and books.

Mathilde, the owner of this new store, has created an eco-responsible mix of : home, garden and children (home sweet home, kids and garden). The flowers, for example, come from local and sustainable agriculture, respecting seasonality and guaranteed without pesticides. In the summer, you will find cut flowers and, in the winter, dried flowers and original arrangements, all of which come from local and sustainable farms/gardeners, guaranteed without pesticides.  Everything is "hunted" at the Têtes de Radis, picked, raked and gathered. From simple paper clips to highchairs and even designer perfumes that are almost impossible to find anywhere else. This new shop is set to become the resort's must-have chic bazaar, to be discovered without moderation!

It's not just a decoration shop... it's a flower shop filled to the brim with beautiful objects, clothes, toys, stationery, crockery and a whole field of sharp, twisted and quirky wonders that have grown here and there between two cuttings. Attached to the idea of an eco-responsible approach, Mathilde, the creator of this new concept store, wanted to mix different universes: home, garden and children (home sweet home, kids and garden). The flowers, for example, come from local and sustainable agriculture, respecting seasonality and guaranteed without pesticides. In the summer, you will find cut flowers and, in the winter, dried flowers and original arrangements. Everything is "hunted" at the Têtes de Radis, picked, raked and gathered.
