Les Gets Village - Summer
Les Gets is a beautiful traditional Savoyard alpine village, in the summer it is both a hoiday resort and and real village where local people live and work. Les Gets in the summer is both a place to relax and unwind whilst enjoying the views of the mountains whilst also having the option for adrenaline activities in the mountains.
There are many different types of restaurants to suite all pockets, there is also a very wide range of shops and boutiques and you must not miss a visit to the Museum of Mechanical Instruments – where you can see a complete history of working instruments.
New for 2017 is the WiBit water play - scroll down to see the video and opposite is a video of the beautiful lake, also the new botanical garden ( again scroll dow for details).
Many families enjoy relaxing by the lake ( see video opposite) where there are life guards on duty and stalls selling ice cream! Close to the lake is the tree top adventure climbing course - adventurous lads and dads get ready to be challenged by ropes and other climbing challenges -several courses so there is a course suitable for all ages!
Les Gets has many local traditional crafts which you can share and enjoy: 'Les Apprentis Fermiers' is a small farm where children from 1 year old can enjoy the animals, there is a small pottery – where you can see and buy pots being made and also there is a wood sculpture – where you can discuss the sculpture you would like and see it made for you.
In July and August, there are many major events in Les Gets, more details on our events page, typically these include:
• The Dauphin Criterium
• The Festival of Mechanical Music
