Aerial Video around Les Gets - Views of the village and Mont Chery

Do you plan to take a holiday in stunning Les Gets, in the French Alps? If so, it may interest you to know that staying in a chalet in the Alps will now leave less of a dent in your bank balance. This is because the pound to euro exchange rate recently hit 1.36, close to its strongest in 7.5 years, or since October 5th 2007. What this means for you is that;

Well all good things have to come to an end and the end of winter season is one of them, but Les Gets is keeping us all entertained till the end. We recently had a very exciting event taking place literally on Chalets 1066's doorstep. Last Week on Thursday 19th March we had the Rock the Piste festival where Selah Sue gave an incredible performance at the top of the Les Folliets lift.

Here at Chalets 1066 we have had an amazing season - it has gone very quickly and we are just about to head into our 12th week of the season with only 6 weeks remaining. Saturday is going to be another busy changeover day but we are looking forward to the new guests arriving.

Here at Chalets 1066 we had a very busy half term week- with all our chalets fully booked. The weather conditions were superb for that week with lots of beautiful sunny days and plenty of snow - which everyone was very happy about.This week in our catered chalet Le Lapye, we had some friends of Ben over from Australia. They had an amazing few days skiing and thoroughly enjoyed our chalets host delicious cooking

Last week our chalet assistant was lucky to have her mum down for a few days and they decided to do something a bit different and went ski joering

We have a very exciting event taking place in Les Gets this week called Ski Colour. This is where the slopes get covered in various colours of powder paint as you are skiing down the slopes. It is taking place on 31st January between 10AM and 5PM on the Mont Chery side of the mountain

Athough the snow has been in short supply this season the sunshine has not, we have had lot of lovely sunny, clear days and good news is around the corner as there is lots of snow forecast over the next few days which will make for even better skiing conditons here in Les Gets

We have had a great start to the New Year as the snow has now finally arrived in Les Gets and the town is looking very white and Christmassy! All the slopes are open and the skiing conditions are amazing :) Hope everyone is out and enjoying the snow!

Two new ski lifts proved to be a great success when they opened last ski season and meant that those staying in Les Gets could get faster and easier access to the rest of the Portes du Soleil.

The Criterium du Dauphin is going through Les Gets and Morzine this weekend, you should be able to see Chris Froome at some point between 1.00 and 1.15 on Saturday. This is the 7th stage of the race and is well known as being a key event before the Tour de France. The stage details are shown here.
