• The Les Gets UCI XCO MTB World Cup 2021

    As well as the UCI Downhill, Les Gets also hosted the UCI XCO Mountain Bike World Cup at the weekend. It was the last event, taking place on Sunday, but it certainly wasn’t the least! Competitors came from all over for one of the biggest XCO Mountain Biking Events in the world and the competition was exceptional. The excitement of the day had us gasping at times, and our hearts were in our mouths on numerous occasions.

    Over the weekend, Les Gets held the second round of the Mercedes-Benz UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup 2021. Competitors came from all over the globe to compete in the largest and most prestigious mountain bike event in the world, and they were no less than impressive.

    Each year the Pass’Portes du Soleil marks the opening of the area’s full lift system and once again, it did not disappoint! The 17th edition of the event was held over the last two weekends, and we were so pleased to be in the centre of it here in Les Gets. The combination of 80km of varied routes, 1000-2450m of altitude, enthusiastic mountain bikers, breathtaking views, and delicious local produce made for an amazing long weekend that we won't soon forget.

    The end to the 2019-20 ski season came as a shock to everyone. On 14th March we had some 240 clients arrive, all looking forward to a great holiday. On the Saturday evening President Macron announced the initial lockdown and then on the Monday evening at 8.30 he announced a hard lockdown and closure of the boarders. This article describes the challenges to our clients and what we did and then life in Les Gets under lockdown since then.
