Vin Chaud coloured spectacles

04 March 2011

Many people say the best skiing is first thing in the morning before the droves get out...

but for me yesterday the best was after 3.30 until the lifts closed. Suddenly a brightish day brightened and everything became golden. There were amazing views from the top of Nyon, with more peaks I dont know the names of, appearing against the horizon. After a day of rather scratchy surfaces, the piste was softer, there were few people out, and you could fly. Conditions were brilliant and quiet until the lifts closed. Just the best! Could be the rose coloured spectacles of a vin chaud at the bottom of the telesiege de la Fys? But the weather forecast for the weekend is good, almost everything is open. I am feeling gleeful!
