Santa in Les Gets - Traditional Christmas day in the village

This is the night before Christmas and all through the Alps, not a creature was stirring, not even a... ok everyone was stirring because it’s Christmas and Les Gets is buzzing with festivities.

Santa in Les Gets - Traditional Christmas day in the village

Mountains and mulled wine are definitely the best recipes for a magical Christmas and here's why: For all our parents and children - and those who are always young at heart - make sure you visit the enchanted forest from the 19th-27th December and enter the magical world of Father Christmas’s kingdom. Light shows, workshops and visits from the big man himself, there is something for every member of the family. And don’t forget to post your letters to Santa just outside the ice rink.

It seems the Christmas magic doesn’t stop in the town centre. The first tourists of the season are making their way to the resort and Les Gets has something special to offer. It is a rarity that you can go to the Alps in December and experience skiing as well as mountain biking. Mont Chery opened for biking on the 20th and has created the perfect combination of extreme sports. So pack your ski boots and shoes - for both the sunny and the snowy, it's called Porte du Soleil for a reason.
