The village of Les Gets
Les Gets, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, is located around one hour by car from Lake Geneva and half an hour from the motorway. The village is known for its mountain bike trails (we host the final of the MTB World Cup at the beginning of July) but also for its many organized family activities, which makes it a perfect destination for families with multiple and sometimes divergent interests ...
In this article, we are not focussing on the sporting activities, but rather on the the well-being and relaxing activities in the village.
Les Gets has an incredible new facility - Les Sources du Chéry, a spa with an indoor swimming pool. With a total area of 1000 m2, it offers a unique alpine ambience, in stone and wood, where you can recharge and also treat yourself to a massage.
Why not contemplate the magnificent brea taking alpine landscapes around Les Gets. We will give only two here. The first is at Mont Caly, which is very easy to access, on foot or by car. At the top, you can admire the Mont Blanc range either in the middle of the day, by doing the small Clarines loop, ideal for families with children or at the end of the day, to watch the sunset while sipping a glass of white wine. cool on the terrace of the restaurant Les Chevrelles.
The second is at the Nauchets belvedere. The site has been designed to accommodate picnic enthusiasts on its 117m2 terrace. It is located at the crossroads of the “Le Tour des Mouilles” hiking trail and the Encape mountain bike trail in Les Chavannes.
Finally, what could be more relaxing than a convivial meal with friends? Here, however, we will mention only cafe/restaurants: have a little moment of sweetness in the new tea room: the Velvette, the pastries are homemade and it is also a decoration shop, something to delight the taste buds and the eyes. For a healthy lunch, go to Wild Beet, where you can enjoy fresh smoothies and delicious mixed salads, full of nutrients.
All in all, Les Gets is full of small, fun activities. You will easily find an outdoor yoga class to do or why not offer yourself a massage service at home ...

With a garden
If you know the area you certainly know that it is not so easy to find chalets with large, private gardens. If you have small children it is great to let them play from the road, so here are our options at Chalets1066:
The R’mize chalet located in Les Perrières, has a large garden in front of the living room, with a pétanque court and a jacuzzi, it is surrounded by a hedge and will be ideal for a game of football!
The apartments of the Rochebrune chalet on the route du Rocher, you will have a superb view of Les Gets from the shared garden which has been carefully landscaped. It features a barbecue and a pétanque court.
The Panda chalet, on the road to Nabor, is located in a quiet area. The garden is enclosed and has a view of Mont Chéry.
And a special for children, the 3 apartments of Chalet Hastings on the Route des Chavannes, the garden has a table tennis table, a trampoline and a small children's house.
With a beautiful terrace
Do you dream of watching a breathtaking view, in the sun, all day long from the terrace of your chalet? If this tempts you, here are the chalets we recommend:
The Mahana chalet and the Les Carres chalet, located side by side on the route des Chavannes. They both have a large terrace and a superb view of Mont Chery that can be admired from their jacuzzi.
The Champs de Lune chalet, also located on the route des Chavannes, the terrace is sunny with a beautiful view of the Marcelly.
Chalet Louis, the top-of-the-range chalet in our portfolio, has an almost 180 ° view of the surrounding mountains on the Route des Chavannes.
Near the Lac des Ecoles
This is the famous Lac des Gets where children are always happy to go swimming. It was partly fitted out with inflatable modules, the WiBit. Here are all the chalets where you can access the lake on foot.
At the top of the Route du Lac, the Chardon Lac and Lunar chalets, both are only a few minutes walk from the lake and also have a hot tub.
On the Route des Chavannes, opposite the Route de Gibannaz, the Duc de Savoie chalet, with 6 bedrooms. It is a 5-minute walk from the lake.
All on foot
If you want to be close to the center of the village, in order to leave the car and enjoy days without driving, we recommend these chalets:
Chalet Cocoon: In addition to its superb view from the living room (you can watch the bikers descend the slopes of Les Chavannes), the Chalet Cocoon is a few minutes walk from the merry-go-round and the pumptrack, the mini jump park, rue du Center.
Chalet Makalu, quietly located, is less than 5 minutes from Rue du Center.
The 5-bedroom Chalet De Vantaa with a lovely outdoor terrace is located not far from downhill mountain biking trails. And next to it, apartment 1.13 in the Résidence des Alpages, on the ground floor which has a small garden.
