Many parents with small children are trying to work out how a holiday in Les Gets could work. How fun skiing is for small children
Of course, skiing is the central activity in our resort and your child will have a great time with various children's skiing areas: it is on the Mappys Area which welcomes beginners for free, in the Grand Cry area with the Indians or on the Mauve slope which is offering à lot of fun and sponsored by Milka chocolate. For the more experienced, adventures are guaranteed in the Border-Cross, the Slalom, and in the Snowpark!
Remember to book your group or private ski lessons in advance with the best instructors in the resort. The ESF also offers a Snow Garden (Petits Montagnys club) from the age of 3 with (Piou-Piou, this is the creche behind the tourist office) or without ski lessons, and formulas adapted according to the age of the children (full day or half day, meal possible).
Tip: meet at noon for a picnic at the Trappeurs Refuge, at the bottom of the Indian area with teepees, outside tables, and a picnic room in case of bad weather. Accessible from the top of the Chavannes gondola for pedestrians. The Office de Tourisme also organises excellent childrens entertainment during the day (games, face painting, etc.)!
Young children love discovering new experiences
Les Gets is the ideal resort for youg children to discover new mountain activities outside of skiing: electric snowmobiling in the Mountain E-Park, paragliding in a two-seater with a qualified instructor, dog sledding experience, yoga and massage classes with Keolan Yoga for children and families, ice skating on the ice rink (from 4 years old)...And to finish on a relaxation note, Clair Moment spa offers gourmet treatments for children from 3 years old. A great way to combine time for yourself and for your child!
Beautiful walks, by foot or sledding
While your young child/children are having fun on the slopes, you can enjoy a special walk with your little one. The resort is full of places to explore such as the Lac des Ecoles, or the pedestrian paths on the Chavannes side at the top of the cable car.
Our favorite is to go up via the Mont-Chéry gondola to admire the panorama of the village of Les Gets and Mont-Blanc, then take the pedestrian path going towards Mont-Caly. There are push chairs adapted for the snow or sledges that you can rent in the shops of the resort. To enjoy it even more, try the baby sledge with a sled dog (up to 4 years old) while you walk with the musher.
Culture and entertainment days and nights
Les Gets is also the ideal resort for traditional visits. Let's begin with the Mechanical Music Museum, which will delight the little ones, or for a ride on the oldest wooden merry-go-round in France, which is currently being classified as a historical monument. Activities and events are offered every week of the season by the Tourist Office (wooden games, creative workshops, orienteering games...).
Why not take advantage of free visits to Perrières Fruitière, where the local cheese is produced, Caroline's Farm on Chavannes road, or to the Pottery gallery and its shepherd's hut in Les Gets. They also offer Pottery workshops to try the joys of shaping clay (booking needed).
To finish the day on a beautiful note, Alta Lumina attraction will delight all the family with its enchanted show composed by sounds and lights (every evening during the season). You can also choose a nice film or cartoon in our cinema!
Activities to share all together
For fun with your children, why not go to the resort's safe sledding pistes. There are 5 pistes in the resort, 3 are adapted for 2-6 year olds (Vieux chêne, Lac des écoles and Front de neige). After sledding, join the Wildkids zone in front of the Chavannes gondola, perfect for 2-6-year-olds with its soft play and accessories for little Indians and cowboys.
Don't forget to stop by the Tourist Office, a free welcome pack for families is waiting for you containing an identification bracelet for your child, a game book, and colored pencils!

For more flexibility, Les Gets resort, labeled "Family Plus", offers the best services to facilitate your stay. The Fripouilles daycare for children up to 4 years old, the Petits Montagnys club presented in the ski section above or our partners specialized in childcare, choose the formula that suits you in daycare! The free shuttles in the resort and running all day are really useful if you need to travel around your children. We offer baby equipment rental, talk to us when you make your reservation about your needs for a high-chair, baby cot with linen, and safety gate.

It is said that Les Gets is Santa Claus's home, but this is a secret to be kept preciously... Go and meet his lair and his faithful elves in his enchanted forest, to discover where he prepares meticulously the gifts for his grand tour on the night of December 24th!
