Hotel Services

Most of us know the problems of a self catered holiday in the alps:

  • there will be problems with water shortages and electricity failure and you can't get any help for days and days (water cuts can regular in the alps )
  • it can take hours and hours to queue in the supermarket,
  • you waste a whole day of your holiday just getting kitted out with skis and boots and buying your ski passes,
  • the accommodation is miles further from the village than they told you when you booked and no taxi service is available and there is certainly no one available to help and to give advice on where is best to ski each day.
  • Your car breaks down and there is no one to help - you are in a foreign country and don't know where to start
  • you would love to have fresh French croissants and breads for breakfast - but ideally you would want this delivered so you don't have to struggle through roads deep in snow before the bulldozer has cleared them.
  • you have small children and would love a daily maid service.

Chalets1066 address all these issues, this started because Chalet Hastings is a French Residence de Tourisme in the French Hotel category; this means Hastings has suites which have hotel facilities. The hotel services are available to all the accommodation which Chalets1066 run, these include:-:

For the ski season:

  • Help and assistance in organising your holiday - before you come
  • A reception where someone is on hand at Chalet Hastings, while you are on your holiday, for help and advice.
  • Breakfast - delivery of: croissants, bread, eggs and orange juice to your door for breakfast - ie room service for breakfast. Or you can have breakfast in our Salon.
  • Chef Service - where you can chose to have meals either in our Salon or served for you in your apartment, this can be for just one evening or for every evening of your stay.
  • Daily Maid service - where you can have your apartment cleaned and your beds made every day.
  • Ski/boot fitting at the Chalet - this us usually arranged for just after your arrival - saving you at least half a day queuing up in the village on your first day to hire your skis and boots.
  • Lifts to and from the village - this is a taxi service but we prefer not to call it a taxi as this needs to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Arrangement of transfers to and from the airport
  • Linen Hire
  • When you arrive, we will spend time with you in discussing you plans to ensure your holiday is a great success, we will also show you around your accommodation to ensure you know how all the facilities work.
  • Grocery delivery service
  • Ski passes delivered to your door (provided you order before you arrive.

For the Summer season, we provide:

  • Help and assistance in organising your holiday.

Under the French regulations, to provide any hotel services means we have to charge TVA at 5.5% on the full rental. This means that our prices will be a little more than a self catered chalets or apartments where you collect the keys from an office in the village, however, even just by using our ski/boot fitting service and ski pass collection service you gain an additional half a day'skiing - worth far more than 5.5%.

Hastings is closed down in the off season, however, we are currently working on organising specialist weeks for:- yoga, cycling, painting and literature during these times where we will have a holiday/study week lead by one or two leaders in these areas.
