Christmas in Les Gets December 2011
A fantastic program of events has just been announced, full details are in our blog about Christmas in Les Gets.
Santa's Grotto - 17th to 30th December 2011
With a history going back to the 11th Century, Les Gets is rumoured to be where Father Christmas lives. From 17th to 30th, Father Christmas and his elves can be seen in the village, there will also be stunning decorations, choirs, Christmas songs and bell ringing. Father Christmas also issues a local gazette which is free in the local shops and the elves regularly organise creative workshops for children. On 19th December, the residents of La Turche organise a party which all are welcome to attend and on the 21st December, the residents of Les Perriers do the same. A details program will be available closer to the date.
Eboule Contest - 20th to 24th March 2012
This is main freestyle ski and snowboard competition in France, the program starts with competitions at 10.00 each morning and for those who have the stamina, the parties go on until 06.00 hrs each morning! More details are at: http://www.ebouelle-contest.com/
Go Wilde Music Festival - 24th March to 28th March 2012
2011 was the first year for this festival - and 2012 is planned to be even better. There will be 10 free outdoor concerts across the Portues du Soleil, all locations will be accessible with the ski pass and the exact location will be announced, by SMS, on the morning of each event - so it is important you register on line.
New Chavannes Bubble Lift
The Chavannes bubble had a total facelift for the winter of 2010/2011, however, however, teams have been working to improve the access to the bubble lift for the 2011-12 season.
